Home › LLC costs
US LLC costs for non-residents include more than the state filing fee. This guide lists every cost, which are one-time and which repeat, and where founders get surprised.
Expect a one-time state filing fee, a yearly registered agent fee, a yearly state report or tax in some states, and optional extras such as a business address or tax help. State fees range from $50 in New Mexico to $300 in Texas. Provider fees vary, so compare what each plan includes.

Your total cost has three layers. First, the state government charges a filing fee. Second, you pay for the support you need to file correctly, such as a registered agent. Third, you pay each year to keep the company in good standing.
Founders often compare only the first layer and then feel misled. A cheap formation can come with an expensive second year. Always ask what renews and when.
These are government fees and change over time, so confirm them on the official site before paying.
Choosing the cheapest state is not always smart. A low filing fee can still be followed by annual costs, and some states are better suited to businesses that operate there physically.
Recurring costs depend on the state. Wyoming requires an annual report, with a minimum of $60 or a small percentage of Wyoming assets, whichever is greater. It is due on the first day of your anniversary month.
Delaware charges a $400 annual LLC tax due June 1. Florida’s annual report is $138.75 for LLCs, due between January 1 and May 1, with a late fee if you miss it. Texas requires an annual franchise tax report and Public Information Report by May 15. New Mexico does not require an annual report for LLCs, but verify that at sos.nm.gov.
Alongside those, the registered agent renews every year. FenFile includes the first year in every plan, and renewal applies afterwards.
Providers range from low-cost filing services to full packages with banking help and branding. The price on the front page rarely tells the full story. Compare what is included.
FenFile has three plans. Starter covers formation, first-year registered agent, an operating agreement and EIN support. Growth adds bank account guidance, Stripe, Wise and Payoneer setup guidance and a compliance calendar. Complete adds a brand identity and logo, a business website and priority support. State fees are extra and shown before payment, and you can pay in PKR through WhatsApp.
Several costs sit outside the formation price, and it is better to know them early.
Not every founder needs every item. Match purchases to your business, not to a sales page.
Pick the state for your business model, not the headline fee. Skip add-ons you will not use in the first year. Calendar every deadline, because late fees and penalties cost more than the filings themselves. Failing to file Form 5472 when required can start at a $25,000 penalty, so budget for tax help.
Finally, ask every provider for a full first-year and second-year total. That single question separates honest pricing from teaser pricing.

It depends on the state and provider. State filing fees listed here range from $50 in New Mexico to $300 in Texas, and you then add registered agent and service fees. Check official sites for current amounts.
New Mexico has a $50 filing fee and no annual report for LLCs, which you should verify at sos.nm.gov. Wyoming is also low-cost at $100. The cheapest option is not always the best fit.
Usually yes. Most states charge an annual report or tax, with New Mexico being a notable exception, and you also renew your registered agent. Federal filings may add costs for foreign-owned LLCs.
It depends on the provider. FenFile includes the first year in every plan and it renews yearly afterwards. Other providers may charge separately, so confirm before you buy.
The common ones are renewal fees, mailing addresses, tax filings and bank or platform fees. Ask for a first-year and second-year total, and read what each plan includes.
